Our fantastic, highly skilled joinery team worked solidly on manufacturing the convenience store furniture to ensure that this large, specialised project was complete within the client’s transformation time frame.
Project Management
Alex Yorke, the designated account manager for this specific job took this project on from initial discussion to sign off. Alex was contacted by one of our regular contacts, Mike from Jordan’s with the proposal of working with Preeti, from The Barnes Pantry.
The Brief
The project brief consisted of a brand-new counter till point and surrounding area. Display shelving for consumables and window displays.
The customer requested reclaimed timber due to sustainability – it was taken from churches, scaffolding companies, floorboards and roof boards, recycling and upcycling used wood. We needed the materials to be perfect to match their store vision, they didn’t want MDF which most convenience stores tend to choose due to ease and expense.

- Old scaffolding boards and Canadian pine roof boards
- Corian Dove – CDUK
Overcoming Hurdles
The joinery of the counter and display frame work went really smoothly and the reclaimed timber was easy to assemble but there was an issue with getting the solid surface to the factory on time. However, this was easily resolved and our suppliers came through.
Upon Completion
The entire process of working with Preeti at Barnes Pantry was an absolute joy. Alex went to visit the store in Barnes, London and spent some time with the customers in the store, making sure that even at the end everything was signed off professionally.
