Overview
We’re very proud to promote our business collaboration with Kuhn Rikon, a Swiss global cookware company located in the West Midlands.
Originated in Switzerland, Kuhn Rikon are ‘known throughout the world’ and have built up a successful reputation for durable, high-quality items.
Kuhn Rikon approached us in August to discuss a store refit and manufacturing project within their brand-new premises in Wolverhampton. With over 700 active SKU’s and approximately 500 cookware items ready to display, the team wanted to utilise a large area in the building to display essentials from their collection. This allows the area to be public to B2C and B2B customers.
Project Management
After an initial introduction at the premises of Kuhn Rikon our Procurement Director Andy Hall was tasked by Edward Margetts, UK’s Managing Director with transforming a blank canvas into a fully functioning showroom, which replicated the other retail stores around the globe.
With Retail Furniture as the manufacturing company, a shop fitter needed to be sourced. Andy contacted a close contact of his – Brian Watkins, the Managing Director from Future Fit-Out Ltd. Luckily, he had availability and assigned his team to the project. The fitting process took three days.
The Brief
The project brief consisted of 4 box shelving units, 2 gondolas, slat wall panelling, hob/display units, boardroom table and desk. It was crucial that the finished project matched the company trademark and followed the brand guidelines.
Overall Features and Materials Used:
- Pine Veneer (19mm, 8×4)
- White Gloss (18mm jumbo) and Laminate
- Aspen Glacier White Solid Surface (12mm)
- Edging

Overcoming Hurdles
The back wall consists of several support batons which the slat wall panelling is fixed. Due to electricity points being unable to be moved, they had to find an alternative way of fitting it to the wall. Once the slat walls were up, the shelving could be positioned in the right place ready for merchandising.
Upon Completion
After the shop fitters completed their installations and vacated the premises, the visual merchandise team at Kuhn Rikon started filling the shelves with all of the beautiful cook wear products.
The overall transformation took 6 weeks in total. With a quick turnaround from the exceptional, hardworking team at Retail Furniture and the fantastic fitters at Future Fit-Out Ltd the team at Kuhn Rikon were happy with the end result.
